The Wingerworth Neighbourhood Plan was adopted in July 2018. The plan was formulated by a streering group and approved by the Parish Council.

The Neighbourhood Plan sets out a community-led framework for planning policies in the Wingerworth Parish. The plan includes policies and proposals for improving the area, key considerations for planning applications and the allocation of sites for specific kinds of development. It also includes a number of policies on housing, employment, the environment and community facilities.

Planning applications within the Wingerworth Parish are assessed against the criteria set out in the Neighbourhood Plan.
